Teri Meharbaaniya (Your Graces)

http://www.forwardon.com/view.php?e=Id11f420d9c75cf8e8&type=featured&time=all

For understanding this blog You must have to watch this video.( watch it anyways.).This video reminded me of the movie "Teri Meharbaaniya".

A dog is a very wonderful creature. However the word "Dog" is commonly used in a abusive manner, but people actually like a Dog.( Remember the GILC episode when Raju Shrivastava made fun of dogs.).They are faithful & can detect your mood. You can always rely on them that they will not leave you.(I am assuming you don't like roadside dogs.) On the other hand the word "Dog" has two completely different annotations. One is the dirty roadside filthy one.The other is the faithful one mentioned above.I had an experience where a group of 10 people were seriously scared by the barking of a single dog.But as the saying goes "Those dogs who bark, don't bite." So we were lucky enough not to be their victims.Everybody knows about the 14 injection thing after a dog bite & the disease which they cause is called "Rabies".

But here we are talking about this wonderful dog who saved his fellow dog's life, who was hit by a car on the highway.( which happens frequently in India.). He is street smart.( Most of them are, not sure about humans though.).He risks his own life, but knows how to tackle the problem of handling the traffic & dragging his buddy's body from the middle of the busy highway. He's kind yet ingenious. In these times when we have to run campaigns to show mercy to people who are met with road accidents,& to take them to hospitals because most onlookers do not assist the victims, seeing a dog performing such a courageous feat touches the heart.I seriously think where is our humanity. We are not even entitled to call ourselves dogs.I think may be these little creatures abuse each other by calling them as "Human".We have degraded to such a level that this use seems apt.

P.S. : On a light note "Aakhir ek kutta hi kutte ki jaan bacha sakta hai." & "Basanti is kutte ke saamne jaroor naachna." & "Teri Meharbaaniya" was a hindi movie in which the protagonist was a Dog who took revenge for the death of his master.

Catalysts of Change

Two posts in a day.Phewww.Actually this post's credit goes to Saurabh bhatia, my co-yatri from TATA JAGRITI YATRA.One of the questions that was raised during the yatra was why Indian businessmen don't enter politics as many US magnates have done it successfully.( Remember Rudy Guilani & Michael Bloomberg). So what we need are the catalysts of change.Don't expect Rahul & Varun Gandhi to be them, they are good for nothing.(May be I am harsh with Rahul). In Andhra Chiranjeevi is already making waves with his new party "Praja Rajyam".Here are the real heroes:

Capt Gopinath the Founder of Airdeccan , a War Veteran is standing for elections from Bangalore this time. This is his official Site: http://votecaptaingopi.com/
Arun Bhatia, an ex IAS officer, is standing in Pune, he is known for maximum number of transfers and his fight against corruption. His site is http://www.arunbhatiaelect.com/

In Hyderabad there is an emergance of a New Party called Loksatta http://www.loksatta.org/

Meera Sanyal, Head of ABN AMRO is standing from South Mumbai as an independent candidate http://www.vccircle.com/500/news/from-banker-to-politico-rbs-meera-sanyal-to-contest-from-mumbai

Probably they can be the catalysts of change.Lets hope for the best.

POLITICS

As I am writing this blog, I found myself full of spirits (yeah you guessed it right). Now starting with the real motive behind writing this post. Politics aka "Poltu" is one of the most important aspect of life @ IIT Kharagpur. But many of us fail to understand that it is an integral part of our lives.
India is a country of leaders. We had great leaders but as our population is increasing the number of followers are increasing at a much faster pace. The flaw is in our mindset & it is that even after being a democracy we are being ruled by our ministers & government. The common man fails to realize that these leaders are one of them having some special abilities but by no means are they Gods.WE are the one who have send them to the helm & if they forget us then they will come down instantly. But Indians had a very large history of being ruled so that mentality is not fading away so easily. The present Generation is the one who have enjoyed freedom, so it is expected that they can bring about the change that is required to revive Indian politics. Personally I have joined many forums for barring criminals to contest in the elections this time, but I guess it will not produce any good result. There are many young & enthusiastic first time voters who are going to election office for making voter id cards.Even the political parties have taken heed of them & are doing expensive campaigning on the net.All of you must know about www.lkadvani.in

The only thing that needs to be transformed in Indian politics is the involvement of the masses.Until the youth shows interest in politics there can be no transformation.I personally feel cheated by the coalition type of "dalbadlu" politics. Most of the politicians are corrupt & have no ideals. They readily change their party from one to another in no time. The election commission needs to make stringent rules so that these type of activities stop at once.I also got one interesting link www.mitsog.com

This is an school for budding politicians :) Now we can have trained politicians for a change. Those who do IAS just for entering politics should seriously consider this option.Instilling the politics with youthful & creative leaders is the need of the hour.Join the politics.Be the change you want to se in the world.

Whenever elections come the present ruling party comes with a new jingle last time it was BJP's "India shining" & this time it is Congress' "Jai Ho".So gear up for watching the "exit polls" & news channels' 24 hour coverage.Don't blame the existing situation, just "Shut up & vote". Choose the best from the worst.Know about the candidates of your constituency. There is a website in which life history of all the Karnataka politicians are given. Here is it praja.in
Googling is much easier. We have the power as it was evident in this year's New Delhi's elections where people voted congress for developing the state.
